Ford’s Ranger is part of the mid-sized pickup resurgence in America. Many think of it as a small rig but it’s dimensions aren’t much different from the F-Series trucks in the 1970’s. That makes Ranger (and competitors Canyon, Colorado, Frontier, Ridgeline and Tacoma, a terrific size for getting things done in urban areas and maneuvering tight trails. Tom Voelk checks out a Lariat model with the FX4 off-road package. It’s not a Raptor but it’ll take on a good amount of adventure.
